  About Colours

Colors are more than just a combination of red and blue or yellow and black. They are non-verbal communication. Colors have symbolism and color meanings that go beyond first appearance.

Colour can have a profound effect on us on all levels, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. We are in a world where colour dominates our lives, colour affects our moods, colors can also create a physical reaction: e.g. red has been shown to raise blood pressure.

The human eye can see 7,000,000 colors. Certain colors and color relationships can be eye irritants, cause headaches, and wreak havoc with human vision. Other colors and color combinations are soothing.

Color is used in many forms to heal and aid the sick, diseased and the distressed. color has been used in healing from ancient times, as far back as Atlantis. The sun's rays have been known to have magical healing qualities and these rays passed through a spectrum, will give you colors that have very good healing qualities for certain illnesses and injuries.   Visualizong Colour

Color is a vibration of light. In dim light, the color we see will seem different than in bright sun light. Everyone doesn't see the color frequency in exactly the same way. For example, I see a color I call blue-green, which to me is blue with a touch of green. Someone else may call the color green-blue, because he sees more green than I do. Even color-blind people are affected by color.

Colors are Universal, and throughout the ages, many different colors have been associated with different religious and spiritual meanings. But one aspect of color holds true in every corner of the world.  The colors we chose are not arbitrary, but hold personal meaning for us. We definitely have certain colors that "attract us",  and other colors we can not even stand to wear or have around us.  The colors we chose are deliberate, carefully selected, and have personal meaning to us as an expression of "who we are". The colors we chose, to decorate our homes, flourish in our gardens, and adorn our body and personal spaces have a lot to offer us in the way of personal insight about what is going on inside, our  innermost feelings and emotions.   How we see colour - Technically speaking

Colour is simply light of different wavelengths and frequencies and light is just one form of energy made up from photons. The visible spectrum as we see it consists of the rainbow. Our retinas though have three types of colour receptors in the form of cones. We can only detect three of these colours - red - blue and green. These colours are called additive primaries.

It is these three colours that are mixed to create all of the other colours we see. The wavelength and frequency of light we see, influences the colour we see. The seven colours of the spectrum all have varying wavelengths and frequencies. Red is at the lower end of the spectrum and has a higher wavelength but lower frequency to that of Violet at the top end of the spectrum which has a lower wavelength and higher frequency.

The human eye has four types of light receptors: the rods which are sensitive only to black, white and shades of grey, and the cones of which there are three types, each of which responds to a different range of colour. Read More..........
